My Approach

While I bring specific expertise to the therapy room, I believe that you are the expert in your own experience. Therapy with me is warm and supportive, but also challenging—because most of us need a nudge toward change. My training as a social worker and in Narrative Therapy help me see the impact of systems, and people as separate from their problem stories. I approach therapy holistically with a blend of evidence-based tools like cognitive-focused and distress-tolerance increasing therapy techniques, along with a trauma-informed, attachment-based, and Queer-Feminist framework.

Specialty Trainings

I'm a certified specialist in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and have post-graduate training from Postpartum Support International related to screening and assessing for perinatal mental health conditions, as well as providing psychotherapy treatment. I have specialized experience providing maternal addiction care in an OB/GYN setting, as well as educating other professionals about perinatal mental health disorders.

Who I See

I see Tennessee residents virtually, and folks in person in Nashville, TN. I help women and trans, non-binary, and gender queer folx navigating mental health concerns, role transitions, identity exploration, and faith deconstruction. I have experience supporting individuals with addiction recovery, body image issues, and disordered eating, alongside other mental health challenges. I currently only provide therapy to adults (18+) and individuals. You must reside in Tennessee for Therapy with Kylie.

A Bit About Me As a Human

I'm a California native—I use "hella" unironically and espouse the sociopolitical beliefs one may associate with someone from my neck of the woods. I live in Nashville and I like to spend time outside of sessions with my pup, reading a great fantasy novel, visiting a local café, or moving my body in joyful ways (kudos if you also think running is joyful). I believe therapists (and especially social workers) have a mandate to engage in activism that improve the common human experience and advocate for marginalized folks—including at the polls. My own experience navigating religious trauma, professional burnout, identity discovery, and people-pleasing allow me to create a space of depth, safety, and transformation for my clients. I count it a deep honor to do the work of a therapist.
